European Permacomputing Game Jam

We were fortunate to take part in the European Permacomputing Game Jam from October 11th to 13th, where we formed three teams with our students and spent an intense 48 hours creating innovative games. This jam celebrates creativity within the boundaries of sustainability, urging participants to create computationally minimal games that run on simple platforms.

Our students embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, working on games that align with the jam’s principles of minimalism, sustainability, and open-source technology. The experience was invaluable, as they not only pushed their creative limits but also learned the importance of designing with social and ecological boundaries in mind. From brainstorming to the final polish, each team brought fresh perspectives to the table, resulting in some truly original and thought-provoking games.

We’re proud to have been a part of this event, which encourages a new wave of game development, focusing on concept and interaction over energy-consuming visuals. Our journey with the Euro Perma Jam was an enriching experience, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact of the games developed during these 48 hours on a broader scale.

A big thanks to the organizers and our participants for their passion and dedication!
