Why do humans and other animals
move their eyes? Starting from this simple but profound question, this talk explores the intersection between the neuroscience of eye movements and a practical application: detecting and predicting human drowsiness using an AI-assisted smartphone app.
 
Yutaka Hirata is a professor of AI and robotics at the College of Science and Engineering, as well as director of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences and AI at Chubu University.
